James Quall

The sobering truth about the life and adventures of comedian James Quall off the set of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! I’m Quall.

Amazing, incomprehensible distances

No, that is not a diagram of what it would look like if a Nuclear bomb was detonated in Lansing, Michigan. Rather, at Scale of the Solar System, some clever person or persons at Michigan State University put together this nice to-scale mapping of the solar system. The scale is set by the size of an Earth globe in some planetarium lobby. A perfect example of the mind-boggling distances in outer space. Truly beyond basic human comprehension.

Simulation city

good times from 2002

This is the biggest city I’ve ever built in Sim City 3000. My only regret is not keeping a copy of the saved game, or having a monitor capable of resolutions larger than 800×600.

Next time, Japanese Sim City!

(Turn up speakers to maximum for complete joke.)

Baby geniuses

And what were you doing at 15 years old?

Straight to China? I’m afraid not

whoop, that's the ocean!

Find out what’s on the exact opposite of side of the world at Antipodes Map. Yep, some 12,742km directly beneath you, something is upside down, and it’s not even weird. Really, it could be anything! (But if you live in the North Hemisphere, or anywhere, really, it’s probably water.)

Running in the 90s

Tired of your 1 hour television programs only lasting for 42 minutes? Well, thanks to YouTube genius rosco1292, you can now get your other 18 minutes of commercial programming back… from 15 years ago, during the original television series premiere of Star Trek Voyager: Caretaker, Part 1.

Now, coming at you from the greater Chicago area… home of the Bundy’s… and the home of the big wind… while still under the reign of William Clinton… and brought to you by magnetic tape… here we go!

Featuring the voice of LeVar Burton in the Intel commercial.

Back when the world still had Wendy’s fast food all-star, Dave Thomas.

Don’t forget to check out freed-human and Gothic killing machine, Morpheus, starring in Bad Company.

Watch out for IBM’s secret outsourced scene.

Alright, so I’m 90% sure that’s Greg Kinnear in the Eagle Vision car commercial.

Well this last block features two of the same ads as the previous, and there’s nothing funny about that.

There’s coffee in that nebula!

'A stranger is a friend you just haven't met yet.'

Janet’s Star Trek Voyager Site — A website that’s straight out of the NINETIES, but has a pretty awesome collection Star Trek maps. Including, as shown above, a detailed map of each year of Voyager’s journey, an explanation of the Star Trek planet-classing system, and tons more. Cheeeeck it out!

Thank you, Mr President

Well, we’re back in business over here. And to re-inaugurate this place, I dedicate and hereby declare this song to be the new official tune of this website.

Bzzt

Ever wonder what’s actually making your cellphone vibrate?

Finally, robotic beings rule the world

Ever wonder who has the fastest hands? — robot pianist or robot typist?

Quick man

Who has the fastest hands — the pianist or the typist? — For any given interval, is it possible to hit more keystrokes on a computer keyboard than musical notes on a piano? If so, has anyone ever tried mapping a computer keyboard to a piano’s keys so that they could play the piano on their computer keyboard, and thus becoming the de-facto fastest piano player ever?

I’ve done some searching around, but so far the internet has yet to yield me an answer. So for now, the best we can do is watch these two videos, simultaneously.

Today I learned something — don’t fall behind.

MS Paint is back

Every one of PaintinWiz’s videos is like this. All 700+ of them. Really. Yep.
